A Good Reminder to Never Celebrate Early

Man, this is just brutal to watch. Bangkok Sports Club and Satri Angthong were in a heated battle during the Thailand Cup. As regulation ended, the score was just 2-2. But then we went to penalty kicks. And that's where the fun really began.

By the time the kick below happened, the score was 19-19. AMAZING. With so many goals scored, you can understand why the Satri goalkeeper was pretty pumped when a kick hit the upper crossbar and seemed to bounce out of harm's way.

Sadly for said goalkeeper, though...the ball took an odd spin and hopped right back into the goal. Satri then missed their next penalty kick (for real this time), giving Bangkok the 20-19 win. Sports are silly.

This Just In: Leo Messi is Good

Taking down the dreams of the U.S. Men's National Team with him, Argentina's Leo Messi broke the all-time scoring record in his club's 4-0 victory Tuesday night in the semifinals of the Copa America Centenario. Naturally, he did it with an absurdly amazing goal on a free kick. Just watch and marvel.

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube Take On Manchester City's Joe Hart

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are starring in Ride Along 2, which will surely have a great return at the box office, even though it's gotten terrible reviews. To help promote the film, Kevin Hart took on his brother from another mother, Manchester City keeper Joe Hart. See how Kevin does at a trio of penalty shots (hint: there's a lot of trash talk). Enjoy!

Abby Wambach's Gatorade Commercial Asks You To Forget Her

Abby Wambach played her final career match the other day, and there was massive fanfare on social media, just before she deleted her account. My buddy and much bigger fan of soccer Ryan wrote a solid piece on Abby's legacy, which I highly recommend reading.

The Gatorade spot is chilling, though. It's tough to imagine asking everyone to forget you–after all, nearly every human wants to be remembered for something. But sometimes letting others have the spotlight is the best gift you can give.

U.S. Women's World Cup Goal In Spanish Makes Everything Better

As I said in my post yesterday, I'm not a big fan of soccer. I barely watched any of the Women's World Cup, in fact. Someone suggested this is because of some bias against women. No. I watched the same amount of soccer during the Men's World Cup, which is to say, barely any.

Either way, there may be a solution here: legendary Spanish broadcaster Andrés Cantor should be on every single broadcast of every single soccer match. His "GOOOOOOOOOOOAL" call is amazing, and makes things better. Let's make this happen.

Carli Lloyd Scores Hat Trick In 16 Minutes, U.S. Women Win World Cup

Again, I'm not going to pretend like I enjoy watching soccer. But it was pretty cool seeing the U.S. beat Japan 5-2 to clinch their first World Cup victory since 1999 technically only three World Cups were played in between then and now, but the length of time sounds so much cooler with the years involved.

Game MVP goes to Carli Lloyd, who scored less than three minutes into the game. Litchrally seconds later, she added another goal.

Then, less than 16 minutes into the match, the U.S. got their third goal from Lloyd, and fourth of the game. This one was from freakin' midfield.

Way to go, ladies. Doing our country proud. U-S-A (x 100).

England Breaks Hearts Everywhere With Terrible Loss On Own Goal

I'm not going to lie and pretend I enjoy watching soccer, or even say I've really followed the Women's World Cup. But this is an absolutely heartbreaking way to lose.

That's England defender Laura Bassett attempting to clear the ball in the 92nd minute of play against Japan. Unfortunately, Bassett's shot was a bit low, hitting the crossbar and going across the goal line. That gave Japan a gift goal, and when the whistle blew less than a minute later, the 2-1 victory. Japan moves on to face the United States on Saturday in a rematch of the 2011 Women's World Cup championship.

Bassett was understandably a wreck afterwards, but this is apparently the farthest the women's English team has ever gotten. Plenty of pride in that. They'll play Germany in the third place game.

The Ad Agency Behind This Nike Women's World Cup Spot Consists Of Two People

Thousands Creative is a tiny little two-man agency made out of a pair of former Nike employees. But their work with this women's U.S. World Cup ad may just put them on the map.

The Guess Who's "American Woman" is heavily featured in the spot, as are the members of the team. It's a terrific framework of showing how all the individual parts of a team, when combined, create something even greater. Check it out below.

Clint Dempsey Asks New Yorkers If They Know Who Clint Dempsey Is

U.S. Men's National Team soccer captain Clint Dempsey was in New York recently to promote EA Sports's Fifa 15. And of course, as a part of the team that captured our nation's hearts for about three weeks, it seemed like he'd be recognizable anywhere.

Well, not really. Dempsey took to the streets to ask people about Clint Dempsey. They didn't seem to realize they were talking to the man himself. The realization of the final guy is fantastic. Just waiting for that light bulb to go off...

James Harden and Landon Donovan Star In New Foot Locker Commercial

Keep with their theme of freshness, Foot Locker has released another commercial, this one starring James Harden and Landon Donovan. The acting always seems a little off in these, but hey, they're athletes, not movie stars. And if life has taught me anything, it's that having a short memory can come in handy. Enjoy.

Jason Sudeikis Returns As Coach Ted Lasso

You may remember last year when Jason Sudeikis debuted his Ted Lasso character, and the world was a better place because of it. NBC brought back the bumbling football coach to promote the return of the Premier League. And guess what? Lasso STILL doesn't understand how offsides works. Check out the video to see all sorts of fantastic one-liners, and I hope this character becomes a full-length movie someday. Because why not? Keep your eyes open for the Tim Howard cameo, as well. Enjoy!

Hooligans: The Bravest App Takes Soccer To A New Level

Finding yourself with soccer withdrawal this summer, now that the World Cup is a few weeks in the rearview mirror? Well, fear not. Argentine-based Artik Games' "Hooligans: The Bravest" is just the scratch your itch ordered.

Okay, so this isn't exactly a mobile rendition of FIFA 14. But it is the world's first soccer-themed battle arena action game. And sometimes you just need to kick the crud out of the man that's keeping you down.

The storyline is simple: the dastardly government has outlawed the sport of soccer from the land. But the Hooligans won't stand for that, and it's up to you to get soccer back. And the gameplay is packed with enough goodies that you can play for several hours without getting bored. My favorite is recruiting new players to join your team with special drinks. It's like how college football programs do things.

"Hooligans: The Bravest is $2.99" and available for the iPhone and the iPad. Check it out!

What Would The World Be Like If Football Coaches Coached Soccer Instead?

NBC tries to answer that very question with a hilarious skit featuring Jason Sudeikis as football coach Ted Lasso. But when he attempts to coach the Tottenham Hotspur F.C., a fĂștbol team, he realizes there's quite a few differences between the two sports. And while this idea is pretty ridiculous, it's well executed with a lot of funny jokes. Best part for me? When Lasso realizes there are draws and no playoffs, and asks "Why do we even do this?" This sketch was done to promote the Premier League beginning on NBC, but more importantly, it's a great reminder that the NFL season is just a few short weeks away!
