A Good Reminder to Never Celebrate Early

Man, this is just brutal to watch. Bangkok Sports Club and Satri Angthong were in a heated battle during the Thailand Cup. As regulation ended, the score was just 2-2. But then we went to penalty kicks. And that's where the fun really began.

By the time the kick below happened, the score was 19-19. AMAZING. With so many goals scored, you can understand why the Satri goalkeeper was pretty pumped when a kick hit the upper crossbar and seemed to bounce out of harm's way.

Sadly for said goalkeeper, though...the ball took an odd spin and hopped right back into the goal. Satri then missed their next penalty kick (for real this time), giving Bangkok the 20-19 win. Sports are silly.

Taste This: Moore's Creamy Ranch Buffalo Wing Sauce

What a great time to be a sports fan. The MLB postseason is rolling, the NFL is in full swing, the NBA and NHL are just getting going. The U.S. men's soccer team isn't qualifying for the World Cup...okay, maybe that last one is a little less exciting.

I've used it for a dip but it really shines as a marinade or a baste. I've given it a whirl on chicken, and surprisingly it was DELIGHTFUL on some salmon.

Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State Combine for 87-Yard Loss on 2nd and Goal

Sometimes in football, plays happen that just defy all sense of logic. This 2nd and goal effort from Louisiana Tech is a great example of that. The Bulldogs took on Mississippi State (also aptly named the Bulldogs) over the weekend and found themselves on the wrong end of an eventual 57-21 loss.

No one will remember any of that, though. The only thing people will take away from this game is this play. Louisiana Tech somehow turned 2nd and goal from the 7-yard line into 3rd and goal from their own 6-yard line. A shocking loss of 87 yards. EIGHTY-SEVEN.

Just let that sink in. How many things had to go wrong for that to happen? The most impressive thing in all of this is that Mississippi State had about four opportunities to score – Louisiana Tech was actually fortunate to come away with an 87-yard loss.

ESPN Stats & Info shared that the previous longest amount of yards to get a first down since 2004 was 57 yards when Georgia faced an epic third down against Tennessee. That record is no more. Amazing.

The 2016 Olympics in Rio were marred by all kinds of controversy, from pools that allegedly had dangerous levels of toxicity to Ryan Lochte's fictional account of being robbed at gunpoint. But the closing ceremonies were a good reminder of why the Olympics are so cool. And one of the highlights was the "passing of the torch" from Rio to Tokyo, the host of the 2020 Olympics.

After a montage of Japanese athletes flipping, kicking and jumping over the architecture of downtown Tokyo, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made quite the grand entrance: through a giant green warp pipe dressed as Mario. Might the mustachioed plumber make an appearance in the next summer games?

Craig Sager's ESPY Speech Ranks Among the Greats

In 1993, Jim Valvano delivered one of the best speeches the world has ever seen. If you haven't been fortunate enough to witness it, you need to check it out. Valvano was suffering from cancer at the time, but his positive, heartfelt words were simply inspiring. 

The Jimmy V Award for Perseverance is awarded during the ESPYs to honor those who, in Jimmy V's words himself, "don't ever give up." This year, the recipient was Craig Sager, who's undergone treatment for three separate occurrences of leukemia. He's remained positive and spirited throughout an immensely challenging time. His acceptance speech was no different – do yourself a favor and watch this. It'll brighten your day.

RIP Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali died at the age of 74 last night after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. While I never got to see The Greatest fight during my lifetime, just watching any number of clips of him is spectacular. For all the good he did in the ring, though, he did plenty outside of it, too. However, nothing will top his ability to trash talk. Nothing. RIP.

Bill Simmons Believes in Any Given Wednesday

Bill Simmons has a show coming out on HBO Sports called Any Given Wednesday. Predictably enough, it airs on Wednesdays, starting June 22. And to get people hyped for it, he's released an "I Believe" promo, talking about all the things he believes. They may be good things, or they're things that should go away. And the final line is gold. I'm not sure how the show will fare, but I'll definitely tune in for the premiere.

Men Read Mean Tweets to Women Journalists' Faces

If you don't feel disgusted after reading this video, I really don't know what to tell you. As part of its #MoreThanMean campaign, the Just Not Sports network had men come in and read insulting, harassing, and typically vile tweets to female sports reporters Julie DiCaro and Sarah Spain.

Oh yes, the tweets are about DiCaro and Spain.

The men reading these didn't write the tweets, and you can tell, as some get choked up having to share someone's horrible thoughts directly to the reporters' faces.

Perhaps even more outrageous are the comments on the video itself, which are equally as terrible as what's in the video, if not worse. It's almost enough to make you give up on humanity completely, but then you see the guys in this video expressing remorse, and you feel a little bit better.

Remember, everyone: regardless of your gender or the gender of the person you're talking to, it's still a real human being on the other end of your post. Just because you're typing it into a computer, don't think it won't have any effect.

James Corden Reenacts Sports Movies With Anna Kendrick, Zac Efron and Adam Devine

The Late Late Show With James Corden enjoyed an enormous audience of about five million in its episode after Super Bowl 50. And, taking advantage of the situation, Corden brought along a trio of stars to act out some famous sports movies with him. He's joined by Anna Kendrick, Adam Devine and Zac Efron to relive a few of our favorite films, including multiple Rocky films, Chariots of Fire and The Bad News Bears. How'd they do? Well, you'll just have to watch the video to find out.

Leonard Fournette Is Just Having Fun Out There

LSU's Leonard Fournette is quite the beast in the backfield. And in the Tigers' 56-27 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Texas Bowl, the sophomore running back looked like a kid in a candy store. He set an LSU bowl record with five touchdowns, and finished with 212 yards on the day.

Above and below are a couple of Fournette's touchdowns. Can't wait to see what he does next year for an encore.

Abby Wambach's Gatorade Commercial Asks You To Forget Her

Abby Wambach played her final career match the other day, and there was massive fanfare on social media, just before she deleted her account. My buddy and much bigger fan of soccer Ryan wrote a solid piece on Abby's legacy, which I highly recommend reading.

The Gatorade spot is chilling, though. It's tough to imagine asking everyone to forget you–after all, nearly every human wants to be remembered for something. But sometimes letting others have the spotlight is the best gift you can give.

Austin Now Has Its Own Wakeboard Cable Park

Next Level Ride, a wakeboard cable park owned and operated by husband and wife team, Curt and Niki Sotkovski, just opened off of Highway 71. The pair joined a wakeboarding team in college, and that hobby turned into full-fledged passion, culminating in the creation of the Austin park.

A wakeboarding cable park is a man-made body of water, surrounded by large towers that connect a cable. A wakeboarder holds onto the cable as he or she is pulled around on the water navigating obstacles like ramps and rails. 

At Next Level Ride, the majority of the obstacles are custom-made by the Next Level Ride team. Riders of all ages can enjoy this fast growing outdoor water sport, even if you're as wildly inexperienced as me. Curt and Niki’s sons, Jackson (six years old) and Maddox (four years old) are getting the hang of it as they get lessons from their parents and Park Manager, Mike Pempsell on the Little Bro smaller cable. And if they can pull it off, anyone can.

The core Next Level Ride team have all graduated with kinesiology degrees, and are invested in helping people learn how to get their boarding on.

Dan Patrick Appears On SportsCenter, Subtly Drops Jab At Former Employer

Dan Patrick made an appearance on the first episode of the midnight SportsCenter the other night, hosted by Scott Van Pelt. And, partially to squash any rumors of a return, Patrick--who was unceremoniously removed from the show and ESPN in 2007--kept his visitor badge on the whole time. It's a nice subtle jab at his former employer, and it's wonderful. Way to go, Dan. Pretty awesome to see one of the best of the old days chatting with one of the best from the current era.

Ernie Johnson Wins Sports Emmy, Gives It To Stuart Scott's Daughters

When Stuart Scott passed away earlier this year from cancer, we lost a broadcasting legend. Fortunately, we've still got one in Ernie Johnson, who's had his own battles with cancer, among other struggles. But he has a tremendous amount of class, and it was on full display during the Sports Emmy Awards.

Johnson, who was nominated alongside Scott, Keith Olbermann, Bob Costas, Rich Eisen and Matt Vasgersian, won his third career Emmy for Outstanding Studio Host. But during his speech, he said there's only one place the award belongs: Stuart Scott's home. He called up Scott's daughters, Taelor and Sydni, and presented the award to them. Just a truly touching gesture by one of the best guys in sports.

Chris Rock On Blacks In Baseball

Chris Rock has never been one to shy away from any kind of racial observations. And he joined HBO Sports to give a terrific segment on baseball, and the lack of black players and fans. It is quite delightful, if not stingingly accurate.

If Teachers Were Football Players

Occasionally, BuzzFeed produces something that's not a list about cats or nostalgia. This is one such thing--a visualization of what the world would be like if teachers were treated like athletes. And I must say, it's quite spot on. Enjoy.
