Abby Wambach's Gatorade Commercial Asks You To Forget Her

Abby Wambach played her final career match the other day, and there was massive fanfare on social media, just before she deleted her account. My buddy and much bigger fan of soccer Ryan wrote a solid piece on Abby's legacy, which I highly recommend reading.

The Gatorade spot is chilling, though. It's tough to imagine asking everyone to forget you–after all, nearly every human wants to be remembered for something. But sometimes letting others have the spotlight is the best gift you can give.

Funny Or Die Tries To Answer The Real Reason Women Don't Direct More Action Movies

I'm not sure if this short from Funny or Die answers the questions it's posing, but hey, why not give it a try. It features Max Greenfield (Schmidt from New Girl), Will Hines and Ryan Stanger as three...somethings really wanting a movie to go "boom," and a host of female directors, producers and writers, like Becca Scheuer, Suzi Yoonessi, Brianne Trosie, and Eleanor Winkler.

U.S. Women's World Cup Goal In Spanish Makes Everything Better

As I said in my post yesterday, I'm not a big fan of soccer. I barely watched any of the Women's World Cup, in fact. Someone suggested this is because of some bias against women. No. I watched the same amount of soccer during the Men's World Cup, which is to say, barely any.

Amy Poehler Reunites With Seth Meyers For A Terrific Special Edition Of "Really!?!"

Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler were without question one of the best Weekend Update anchor pairings on Saturday Night Live. But they both moved on to bigger and better things: Poehler had her starring role on Parks and Rec, and Meyers slid into Jimmy Fallon's role on Late Night after the latter moved into The Tonight Show to replace Jay Leno. Phew, so much moving around.

Anyway, Meyers and Poehler reunited for one of their most memorable recurring segments, "Really!?!," which questions some stupidity in the world. In this case, it's an extremely misogynistic tweet from a Sports Illustrated writer. Hilarity ensues, so enjoy!

The Ad Agency Behind This Nike Women's World Cup Spot Consists Of Two People

Thousands Creative is a tiny little two-man agency made out of a pair of former Nike employees. But their work with this women's U.S. World Cup ad may just put them on the map.

The Guess Who's "American Woman" is heavily featured in the spot, as are the members of the team. It's a terrific framework of showing how all the individual parts of a team, when combined, create something even greater. Check it out below.
