Poverty Line Prices Video Tries To Start Conversation About Poverty in the U.S.

Tipping Point Community adjusted the prices in a grocery store to simulate life on the poverty line. In the video above, shoppers find out what it feels like when their routine trip to the grocery store suddenly becomes quite pricey. Hint: it ain't fun. One in ten Bay Area families live on $24,300 or less. Help break their cycle of poverty at TippingPoint.org.

Man Plays Willie Nelson Song For His Mom That She Wrote

So this is what it looks and sounds like when you play your 92 year old mom Willie Nelson's cut of a song she wrote.
Posted by Buddy Cannon on Saturday, October 1, 2016

Well, this is just the cutest thing ever. Buddy Cannon is a music producer who's worked with the likes of Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, and Texas's favorite son, Willie Nelson. His relationship with the last one got him a very special moment for his mother.

You see, Cannon's mom, Lyndel Rhodes, is a big fan of music herself. And a few years ago, she showed her son some songs she had written. Cannon was particularly drawn to one, called "Little House on the Hill," and brought it to Willie's attention. The 83-year-old musician said he loved it and wanted to cut it – so they did.

And then, at the very little house on the hill the song is based on, Cannon played the song for his mother. The first time, she got very emotional, and understandably so. The second time, Cannon recorded it so the world could share in her joy. And it is a delight. Way to go, Buddy and Lyndel. And great singing as always, Willie.

Von Miller Chanels His Inner Justin Bieber For Madden Commercial

Fresh off a Super Bowl MVP award and appearance on Dancing with the Stars, Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller is eager to show us his moves. It just so happens Madden '17 is about to come out, so Miller has a terrific platform in the form of a commercial for the game.

Miller takes it one step further, though: instead of just dancing for a bit, he does his best Justin Bieber impersonation, with a parody of the Beebs' "Sorry." This one's called "Start Me," and it features a heavily autotuned Miller suggesting you, the GM of your fictional roster, should make Miller your cornerstone, because, after all, he's got a 99 rating. That's the best you can do, so why not start him?

Charles Tillman Retires with Delightful Goodbye Video

Charles Tillman announced his retirement on Twitter, and did so in perhaps the best way an athlete ever has. In 13 seasons in the NFL (12 with the Chicago Bears, and last year with the Carolina Panthers), Tillman perfected the "Peanut Punch," where he'd literally punch the ball out of an opponent's hand in order to force a fumble. He ended up with 44 career forced fumbles in his career, to go along with 38 interceptions.

To celebrate the news, Tillman made a video of himself punching every day items out of people's hands. His daughter's donut isn't safe, for example, and neither is the remote control his wife is using to watch TV. It's delightful, and a fitting way for a class act to go out. Thanks for the memories, Peanut.

Nike Athletes Pay Homage to Kobe Bryant in Tribute Video

This season has been an absolute mess for the Lakers. The team has been terrible, and Kobe Bryant has not been his usual killer self.

Of course, that shouldn't diminish what has been a terrific career, and on Wednesday, the Black Mamba will take to the court one final time. Kobe's been a Nike athlete since entering the league, so the shoe giant paid tribute with a video of other Nike athletes talking about Mr. Bryant.

There are lots of folks in here. Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Russell Wilson, and a whole host of others. But the real show stealer is Kevin Durant. He describes Kobe perfectly in a way that would probably make the Laker laugh. Well done all around.

It's Not You - Bad Doors Are Everywhere

Have you ever run into a door that you really just don't like? Maybe it should be a push when it's a pull, maybe it's very heavy, maybe it's got a smudge that simply never disappears.

Whatever the reason, Vox's Joe Posner and the 99% invisible podcast feel your pain. And they want to talk about it. From the video's description:

There's a door on the 10th floor in the Vox Media office I hate so much. You probably know one of these too. But it's not our fault.

And luckily, Roman Mars of 99% Invisible magically arrived in my cellphone to send me on a cross-country journey to find out the incredible surprises behind this common complaint:

Don Norman started complaining about doors over 25 years ago. Doors shouldn't need instructions – the shape of them can guide you through just fine. So why do so many doors need instruction manuals right on the side of them?

When most people complain about something, nothing happens. Don Norman is not most people – he's a psychologist and cognitive scientist. Don Norman thought about, and wrote about his complaints so incredibly thoroughly that he changed the world. 99% Invisible's Roman Mars helps tell the story.

I think it's safe to say you'll a-door this video. Okay, I'll see myself out.

Jam This Song: "State Lines" by Burning Years

Sometimes a song just makes you want to jump around and go crazy. Hopefully that's the case with "State Lines" from Burning Years, a band I happen to play in. We had a blast shooting the music video with Party Hat Productions, and I'd highly recommend them if you have any photography or video needs. Hope you enjoy the song, and if not, we appreciate the click. Keep on rockin'!

Super Bakery Bros. Shows Super Mario Bros. In Cake Form

Super Mario Bros. is a wonderful game, and cake is delightful. Pair the two together, and you can't go wrong. Check out the above video to see how a sibling duo designed a cake and created a stop motion video recreating the first level of Super Mario Bros.

Perhaps more interesting is the behind the scenes video, which shows how everything came together. Pretty fascinating stuff, and maybe it'll teach you how to make a stop motion video yourself!

10 Types Of First Dates

'Tis the season for dating, right? Well, if this video I recorded two years ago and finally got around to editing and posting is any indication, yes. Yes it is. Check out the various types of people you may encounter on a first date, from those who can't get off their phone to those who can't stop living in the past. Amazing. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

Instagram Husbands Video Is Hilariously, Depressingly Accurate

"Behind every cute girl on Instagram is a guy like me, and a brick wall." So begins the "Instagram Husbands" video by The Mystery Hour. It's a dark, eerily accurate trip down the path of being in a relationship with someone obsessed with Instagram.

Everything about this video is well done. It's quite spot on, as well. I'd like to think, that, even though I'm posting a photo a day on my own Instagram, I'm usually taking those pictures myself. I don't want to bring other people down with me.

Music Video For Weezer's New Music Video Will Make You Crave Cannolis

Weezer has a new song called "Thank God For Girls." It has gotten mixed reviews on YouTube, but I'm kinda digging it. The music video is...well, it's something. It's a man sitting in front of a painting of Jesus, eating a plate of cannolis. I don't understand it, and I don't particularly like it. But man, do I want a cannoli now. Just one, though. Not a plateful.

If Netflix And Chill Were Real

"Netflix & chill" is a new phrase that's taken the world by storm over the past few months. It boils down to inviting someone over to watch some Netflix, implying you'd just "chill" with 'em. Maybe catch up on a quality program like Peep Show or Bob's Burgers. But really, you have different plans. You want to do more than just chill. You want to get ICE COLD. Or...you know, something like that. This video explores the pains of trying to watch as just friends.

Funny Or Die Tries To Answer The Real Reason Women Don't Direct More Action Movies

I'm not sure if this short from Funny or Die answers the questions it's posing, but hey, why not give it a try. It features Max Greenfield (Schmidt from New Girl), Will Hines and Ryan Stanger as three...somethings really wanting a movie to go "boom," and a host of female directors, producers and writers, like Becca Scheuer, Suzi Yoonessi, Brianne Trosie, and Eleanor Winkler.

What Happens When You Accidentally Like A Photo On Instagram

We've all been there--scrolling through an Instagram feed, when suddenly, you realize you've accidentally double-tapped a picture, or clicked the 'Like' button. Now, a little notification is telling that person you've 'Liked' their photo, but what if you don't actually...you know, like it? BuzzFeed Video runs us through the options.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Release New Music Video: "Downtown"

Macklemore always has delightful music videos, and this one is no exception. As the top comment (currently) suggests, "Uptown Funk and Thrift Shop had a baby...and you just watched it."

This is 100% accurate. It's a fun, quirky song in the vein we've come to expect from the Seattle duo. They're also joined by Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, and Eric Nally. And I fully expect to hear it all over the radio in the next year. Can't...wait...

Classic Case of "Whodunnit" In An Officer And Owl Standoff

My goodness, who can resist a corny pun like that title? Terrific job, Joey.

Anyway, this video, in which a Boulder County sheriff chats with an owl, is one of many that has gone viral despite making my eyes hurt with its black bars around the content. Don't shoot in portrait mode, kids. It makes everything smaller in addition to just looking dumb. But the owl is pretty cute, even if it didn't peck an eyeball out like I was expecting. Guess there's still some mystery left in the world after all!

This Music Video Is Among The Most Ridiculous

Beirut debuted their new music video for the song "No, No, No," and it is pretty outrageous. Set to frontman Zach Condon's new love, No No No is going to be an album full of sunshine. Meanwhile, this video is full of nonsense. Condon at various points plays a loaf of French bread and a skunk as if they were a trumpet. Not sure which one would be easier to mimic.

Beyonce Dancing To Ducktales Theme Song Is Wonderful

http://goodfriendspodcast.tumblr.com/post/119921659418/single-ladies-synced-up-with-the-ducktales-theme

There's a hashtag #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat that implies any Beyonce music video can go with just about whatever song you can think of, and it will still sync up. Case in point: the Ducktales theme song. Queen B can get down anywhere, even with her avian friends headed for adventure and possible disaster. Get it, Bey.
