You may remember earlier this year when the Detroit Pistons released a video of Barack Obama rapping to Drake in order to endorse Pistons center Andre Drummond for the All-Star Game.
Well, Detroit's media team is back at it, giving us another Obama cut. This time, he's rapping to the 2001 Dr. Dre/Eminem hit, "Forgot About Dre." If the Pistons have their way, nobody will be forgetting about Drummond anytime soon.
Ah, I do love a good mashup. And what better than one of the best rappers (Eminem) pairing with one of the best puppet-based shows (The Muppets). Scooter plays the part of Em in this one, while Kermit gets to spout off a couple of Dr. Dre lines. These kinds of mashups are always much easier to do with animated or puppet shows, but hey, that doesn't make it any less entertaining. Enjoy!
Daniel Radcliffe was hanging out at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay, CA, when karaoke night began. Naturally, he decided to show off his rapping skills, and chose a solid song in "The Real Slim Shady" by Eminem (though I'd personally choose "Without Me"). He certainly gets a little off-rhythm a few times throughout the performance, but hey, it's still pretty impressive overall.
What is not impressive is girlfriend Erin Darke's contribution to the song. The dancing is fine, sure. But the shouting in the chorus is kind of loud and obnoxious. Having hosted karaoke, I've seen many a drunk person do this very same thing, so I shouldn't be too surprised. Also big thumbs down to the camera lady for filming in vertical, though she's actually made a comment about it on the video itself, threatening to disable the comments because so many people have criticized her about it. I guess perhaps people like seeing a video instead of black bars? Sorry boutcha. Enjoy the performance!
Her name is Shelby Mitchusson. Her game is interpreting music via American Sign Language. In this video, she tackles "Lose Yourself" by Eminem, and it is wonderful. This is actually very good signing; facial expressions play a big part in the performance, and Shelby nails the emotion of Eminem's autobiographical number about his rise to fame. And now, thanks to the power of the internet, Shelby has gotten some fame of her own. Here's to many more of these videos educating people about sign language and the power of music.
